One handed pram recommendations (baby & dog walking)

🐶 & 👶🏻 mums - Could anyone recommend a pram that’s great for pushing alongside a dog? I.e something that can be manoeuvred very easily with one hand? Thanks in advance.

Baby Jogger City Mini GT I love mine! Not sure about the GT2 (don't have that one, but have heard the original, which I have, is better).

Bugaboo bee is very easy one handed, but is best on urban terrain.

We have a micralite smart fold and it is super easy to push with one hand and the tyres are large at the back so it's very smooth. It's adaptable for use with carry cot and car seats, it's really comfy looking and I would buy another of these if I needed to. The handle is so easy to adjust if you and DH are different heights. It's great for walking on wet sand and stuff too.

One negative is that it only folds upright so it's quite like a golf caddy so you need to have space to store it upright and also a large car boot although I did manage to get it into my granny's ford fiesta boot!

What sort of dog walks do you do? It more off road ones I would recommend the icandy all terrain. It’s a bit heavier than some, but does go over everything!

purplepencilcase · 29/12/2022 14:09

Out and Abouts are amazing. Highly recommend.

I just use a dog lead that’s attached to a belt that clips around my waist. We use it everyday and no problem. There’s loads on Amazon

I’ve got the mamas and papa’s xt2 and it’s good for walking the dog.

i haven’t used it yet but also got Hauck running pushchair. I couldn’t justify the city jogger(massively recommend this one if budget not an issue) as im only an occasional runner

Agreed

City mini's are great and can also be put up and down one handed. Out and about nipper is also good for very off road/muddy. I didn't like it as much for comfort though. City mini has a huge hood and can be laid flat. Love mine.

Hopeyoursproutsarealreadyon · 29/12/2022 14:25

Ime not a 3 wheeler...
Navigating a pulling ddog whilst doing a 360 holding a pram isn't a good look.

foobio · 29/12/2022 14:26

Out n about nipper, amazingly manoeuvrable off road. You'd need an insert for a newborn.

Our Mountain Buggy Terrain has been brilliant and covered many, many, many miles with the dogs when our daughter decided to only nap in her buggy for 4 months!

goldpendant · 29/12/2022 15:31

I re-bought a city mini GT for this very reason (and a dodgy shoulder). It really was the best I tried for one handed pushing/steering.

megletthesecond · 29/12/2022 15:33

You need a 3 wheeler with a bar handle. Mine could turn on a sixpence with one hand.

jevoudrais · 29/12/2022 15:44

I also prefer to use a walking belt and clip the dogs on there. I have three dogs and an iCandy Peach. In winter we tend to do walks sound quiet village lanes where the dogs can go off but nobody gets filthy.

Bugaboo bee is very easy with one hand, but it's not very good "off road" I've trashed mine by going on rough terrain. But it is easy to push

AegonT · 29/12/2022 22:10

Bugaboo Bee for town and sling for off-road.

ForeverTired89 · 29/12/2022 22:32

I have the Joie Litetrax 3 and I find it easy to push one handed and walk the dog. It’s quite bulky though but found it holds up well on rough terrain.

I know it’s not the question, but I found a sling 10x easier for dog walking. (On a related note, don’t get an Uppababy Vista - they are great but very heavy!)
