6 weeks in and DD (15 months) still cries at every drop off Sad she has had a couple of periods of sickness and Christmas so it’s been a bit interrupted. How long did your child take to settle?
i have noticed that although she technically has a key worker, it isn’t necessarily her who I hand over or pick up from, just seems to be whoever’s available - would this have an impact?

My 2yo took a couple of months before she stopped crying at drop off. However, she only goes for 2 afternoons a week. How frequently does your DD go?

Does she settle quickly after you’ve left? The main thing for me was that DD would stop crying within 2 mins and had a great time.

@Alitlebitsleepy she does 3 full days a week. Nursery say she does soon settle after I leave but can be a bit up and down during the day.

About a year for her to stop crying at dropping off. It's not that she disliked nursery, it's that she found the separation bit hard. Was going 5 days per week. Since she turned 3 she's been great. She's been going since 16 months

This is the problem key workers were introduced to be a consistent attachment for young children....they need a secure attachment to settle and feel secure. In practice most nurseries use them for admin. It's a benefit of childminders the child knows who they are going to....can you ask the nursery if they can support settling by having at least one of 2 people welcome in every day for a bit?
