My son is 3.5 Years. Right from childhood he used to prefer his grand father more and now the ignorance level has increased too much that he doesn't come to me. The emotional turmoil i go through cannot be explained.. is this common? Is there a way out?

Are you the mum or the grandmother?

Is he only visiting grandad? How is this an everyday issue? Does grandad reinforce moms role? Ie mom is calling you? Go to mom time to go home with mom now etc etc?

Ah ignore, sorry, you wrote "my son".

I don't get the part about the grandfather though? Did you mean your son's father/your OH?

Sounds like they're overinvolved tbh. Cut back to a weekly visit at a predictable time or go for a few weeks of just doing fun stuff with him, no grandad. Then if he's around them and doesn't listen to you, give him one warning and then take him home, every time.

Wait, I've just reread.

Is it that when his GD is around he ignores you as in isn't interested in cuddles or playing with you?

Or that he ignores you as in you say "put your shoes on Billy" and he won't?

The first is normal, the second needs sorting out.
