Normal behaviour for 5month old ?

We've had a very unsettled baby since 2 last weeks old. We've tried gaviscon, omeprazole, then was prescribed aptamil pepti 1 and referred to a paediatrician who was adamant it was a bit of reflux and that she would outgrow it. The pepti didn't make a huge difference but she would have her good days. So we carried on. We did stop her omeprazole early on as we found it so stressful trying to get it down her.

Anyway 5 months on and she's been grizzly for about a week. She had her jabs so thought it was that. She had a few days of ever so slightly green poo and after speaking to the HV she said it sounded like a bug or could be teeth.

She dribbles and constantly is biting down on hands or anything she can get in her mouth.

She appears hungry but when feeding she doesn't seem hungry. She's off her milk and not enjoying it as much.

The grizzles are really getting us down - we are so tired and I know it's not her fault

Just want to settle her

I'm feeling more and more anxious

She sleeps well but can be quite noisy. She goes down around 7ish and will normally have a dream feed around 11-12 or if we don't we will wake for a feed early morning then is usually awake 4-6am - like she wants to be up for the day.

My question is do we push for an amino acid milk? That was my next step a while ago but she did sort of settle ish

But now she will cry/grizzle/moan pretty much throughout the day. It's definitely regressed

GP won't change milk or didn't last time I asked and paed DR said he would see how she goes at next app ( end jan where she will be 6 months!) but that's still a month away

Paed was dismissive as she's gaining weight, no blood in poo or exthma

Please help anyone that's gone through it

I'm so tired

To add she wasn't a settled baby who's turned grizzly a week ago, she did sort of settle but not over night, grad got better but that last 7-10 days feels like things that got worse

Sounds like teething.

Teething.

Som babies seem to get through it OK. Others have a rotten time with it.

Really sounds like teething to me. Would try some gel for her gums, lots of teething toys and maybe some calpol to see if it helps her.

Sounds as though your lo is teething. I'd recommend getting the teething rings that can be frozen and let the lo go at it. Good luck

I'd be going to bed as soon after 7 as you can possibly manage. She's doing long chunks of sleep a night so you need to catch up on sleep then too. It'll pass. It's just that age, it's not the milk.

Thanks all - i suspected teeth! My first definitely wasn't this bad !!!but was 11 yrs ago so maybe forgotten!

I'm sort of reassured as wasn't sure if I should be changing her milk or pushing to. I feel like I'm failing her when she's grizzly when crying the way she does.....😫like I'm missing something

She slept from 7pm - 1am where I fed her and she drained 7oz last night and I went to bed at 930 then she was up for the day 6:30 but we played the dummy game from 4ish but kept going back to sleep on off but I don't, but on paper I guess she sleeps well just doesn't feel like it !

Have gel, tethers and powder and have been doing calpol intermittently
