How to you interpret " you worked hard to keep the family together"

You sacrificed your own happiness and enabled someone else's bad behaviour in order to keep your family "together", whatever the fuck that means.

Something along these lines. Also ‘you put with XYZ annoying habits for far longer than you should have’. Or ‘you ignored warning signs / red flags / controlling or useless behaviour for the sake of not breaking up the family’.

Spoiler alert - the family (aka children) is rarely grateful or benefits much from women making these ‘sacrifices’. It’s often the opposite, and so much damage is done to little children by the family staying together.
