Baby Monitor Recommendations

As title suggests...

My DD is 2.5yrs but we still use a monitor in her room as we can't hear her from downstairs in evening if she wakes. We've had the Angelcare one with movement sensor mat since she was a baby which has been great (although we no longer use the mat). However, she's started to say she's scared of the camera when the light goes red (it turns red when we look at the parent unit). I've therefore had to move it out of sight (so can only be used for audio) before she'll get into bed at night.

Can anyone recommend a decent monitor (preferably with option of video) that doesn't light up the camera at all? Don't want to break the bank either.

I only ever used the cheapest one. The Motorola, plug-in, audio only. About £20 on Amazon or in Argos. Cheap enough it didn't matter when I dropped one and left another in a holiday cottage.

Especially with an older child you don't need anything fancier.

Hi @nobodygirl2023 thanks for your post 💐we've rounded up and reviewed Mumsnetters' best baby monitors - it's worth a look if you're still after recommendations.
