Baby won’t settle for dad

My 3 month old has only recently started screaming when her dad holds her or tries to feed her, as soon as he picks her up she starts ! We have tried skin to skin, interacting with her and just walking about the house but she’s not having it. She will smile and laugh at him when he speaks to her but as soon as he holds her it’s game over, it’s starting to get to me badly because I’m always left holding her! Please tell me this is just a phase

It is just a phase but I would honestly leave them too it and go out. Both of them have to find a way of getting along without you being there Flowers

Definitely a phase. My DD has had several of these over her first year. It's because I was bf and with her all the time. If I wasn't in the room/house then she was fine. Especially now as she's 16 months, she's very much a mummy's girl but if DP takes her out or spends time with her then she'll be all over him.
It's tough when they only want you but definitely just a phase.

Yep, you need to go out and not be available.

We also had this phase! Baby is 6 months now and settles the same on dad as he does on me. I’m not sure if it helped (but didn’t do any harm) - when this started happening his dad slept on his bed sheet before we put it on his bed, so he got very familiar with his smell. Dad also developed different ways of holding and settling him as he has different preferences compared to when he was with me. It was a really hard phase for me too, but it will pass.

He just needs to do more of it.
