7 month old eye colour

Hello,

Interested in hearing what eye colour everyone’s children ended up with and what age they changed, if they changed😊

My DS is almost 7 months old. Newborn his eyes were very dark, almost black. Quite hard to tell what colour they were/would be. Now they are sort of a blue/grey colour around the outside with a brown ring around the middle. Some days they look brown, some days they look green and other days blue.. quite hard to determine. Hazel? They seem to be a different colour every day 😂My MIL doesn’t think they will change, but she didn’t think they would change at all from birth and they have so…

Mine are greeny/hazel too.. I also have a brown ring around the middle, but they took a long time (years) to turn to the green colour round the outside. They also go more green in the sun. DH’s eyes are very dark brown.

I’m wondering whether DS’s eyes will change to kind of my colour, stay the same or go brown like my DH.

Very interesting watching them change slowly 😊

Both my DDs were born with very dark blue eyes - almost black - but by a few months of age they'd turned to a more typical bright blue. DH and I both have blue eyes so not expecting any further change.

Very dark blue is normal - for caucasian babies, at least. I have blue grey eyes, DH has unusual very pale green eyes (but is otherwise quite dark). Kids both aat secondary now;oldest's eyes have ended up grey blue, but more like that of my MIL and SIL than my shade. DS's eyes have ended up blue-y green, so a hint of his dad's colour, but not quite the same.

My 2 year old was born with dark grey eyes. His are still slowly changing and they're now grey/green/hazel. Apparently hazel eyes are the slowest colour to change. I have 1 more green eye and 1 more hazel eye and my mum said mine didn't settle to those colours until I was 5ish!

Thanks for the replies. Wow that’s amazing, 5ish.. I could be in for a long wait to see what colour his eyes will be then! I thought they would turn brown by now.. but perhaps my DS will have the similar greeny, hazel colour eyes to mine 😍

DD had blue-grey eyes for years, then with certain clothes they started to look green. Eventually, about 13/4 they became hazel.

Dd has deep brown eyes that went that colour within weeks of birth. Way darker than both mine and DH.
DS has eyes that still change colour even now, he’s 9. They’re a mix of hazel, green, grey, blue bits. The dominant colour is always affected by what clothes he’s wearing! It’s so cool. No one else in the extended family has eyes like him. I imagine they will settle into a grey/hazel mix as he grows. They look so obvious because he has quite strong lenses in his glasses so his eyes appear very big.
Sounds like your little one will have cool eyes too! The only issue is he never knows what to put on forms etc where it asks eye colour!
