Wearing glasses - tips for encouraging it!

Hi, thanks for reading. First time poster here, please be gentle with me. I'm looking for tips to encourage my 6 year old DD to wear her glasses.
I took her for an eye test a couple of weeks ago because she missed routine screening at school. To my surprise she is quite long sighted as well as having a fairly bad astigmatism in both eyes.

She picked out pink disney glasses and was initially excited but now refuses the glasses most of the time. The optician warned me that the glasses will be 'very different' for her but will allow her vision to develop normally. Having just recently got used to varifocals I can empathise with 'very different'. I've not made her wear them if she says no but we are not getting very far.

The only thing that worked so far was out and out bribery with a promise of a small sweet for each hour she kept them on. But hubby isn't happy with that!

(Just as an aside, my 7 year old son also got told he needs glasses that same day, but he has taken to them like a duck to water). Before going back to school after Christmas we need to make sure my DD is wearing them all day.

Ideas, tips, recommendations all welcome!!!
