When did you return to work from mat leave?

Just interested in some different experiences really. I always thought I’d take a year but I actually miss work a lot more than I thought and we could do with the money sooner rather than later. When did you return from mat leave? Did you wish you’d had a longer/shorter time off? How did you feel about returning to work?

Went back full time when DT’s were six months old - normal maternity leave then. Worked well as DT’s went to an excellent nursery and I could ensure my career was on track.

I took the full leave... would have quite happily taken longer!

I took 7 months with DS and then did 1 month part time to ease back in. I felt very much ready to return and it worked well timing wise with a big new project starting so I could manage it from the start rather than trying to take iver half way through.

With DD I will be going back 3 weeks before she is one, but will have had just over a year off work as she is a January baby so I was on holiday over Christmas before my leave started. Will be doing 4 days compressed to 3.

With prices rising it is very tight for us at the moment and I feel like we are burning through our small pot of savings at an alarming rate! Luckily our mortgage is fixed so that hasn't affected us yet and we have some credit with our energy supplier which will hopefully see us through to the end of January.

Six months. We did shared parental leave so DH then took six months off. I was very ready to go back, found it very hard having so little to think about on mat leave!

When I had mine I was only entitled to 3 months. So DS I went back at 3 months and DD they said I could work from home (25 years ago!) So ii went back at 6 weeks. I was only ,p,t anyway and nobody did my job while I was away
