Should I be worried?

DS is 1 next week. He crawls (very fast aha!) and cruises on his knees so like shuffles along holding on to things

but he’s yet to stand unaided and he doesn’t stand holding onto stuff? I am trying to encourage standing sometimes he lifts his legs up or sits down

He does pull himself up but kneels and he puts a leg down and looks like he will try to

but I’m really worried as the health visitor is ringing and will be asking is he standing and taking steps and he’s not

is this normal should I worry? He’s always been a bit heavier (little chunk!) so weight bearing was hard to do with him cos he had a lot of it aha!

He started crawling 10.5 months old

Hello OP
My son didn't stand on his own till about 15 months and didn't walk until 20 months.

He is five next week, he is slightly behind his peers in gross and fine motor skills, but apparently not enough to do investigations.

He was on the 99th centile for height and weight.

My second son walked at 19 months, crawled at 10 months and stood around the same time. He is meeting all his milestones motor skills wise, and is three in January. He is 98th centile.

Hope this reassures you xx

They will only be concerned if he isn’t walking at 18 months. DD2 stood up in the middle of the room one day and exactly a week later was running around. Once they start moving they do so quickly.

It’s completely normal. Do not worry

Nothing to worry about OP. He started crawling a little later so it's only natural he'll take a little longer to walk.

Nothing to be worried about at all. My child was an early walker but didn't start talking until she was about 2. 4, before anyone could understand her really. All children are different and excel at different things, don't worry.

Neither of mine crawled. Ever. They bottom shuffled and didn't take a step until 15 and 16 months. Strapping teenagers now.
