Baby threw up in sleep

As the title says,
I have two 3 month old girls, their generally good babies, sleep well, drink plenty of formula, little bit windy at the moment but all in all everything seems to be going great!
Until I was doing their morning feed! One hour after I fed both girls and they had gone back to sleep, I heard one of them what sounded like being sick, I was just sat on my phone so I peered into check and she had been sick all over her face! Like projectile vomited her milk all over her face and through her nose! She didn't make any sounds before this, so no coughing or crying herself sick, she didn't seem fussed by this so I cleaned her up and sat her up for a while and have gotten her back to sleep now,
I'm just so worried that if I wasnt still awake she could have chocked if I hadn't have heard her! She hasn't done this before so Im not sure what could have caused this? Has this happened to anyone else? If so did you take them to the doctor/gp? I'm worried now about going back to sleep!

This might be caused by something called pyloric stenosis and yes, definitely take your baby to the doctor asap.

She's past the age of pyloric stenosis.
I wouldn't rush to a doctor for a one off, just see how she goes. True projectile vomiting lands at least half a metre away, so definitely outside the cot

I work in nicu and we often find babies covered in vomit, none have ever choked on it in 13 years of nursing. Usually its causes by wind that we've not be able to get up.
