Is my 2 year old ready to drop her nap?

DD is turning two on Monday. She has always been a good sleeper and no trouble once put down. We transitioned her into a bed 6 months ago and still continued to sleep and nap well. She shares with 8 month old DS, they have shared for 4 months with no problems.
DD has a bath and is in bed for around 7:15. The past week she has played with her toys noisily or gone to her brother’s cot and woken him up. She is not upset but just wants to play. She tends to nap around half 12 to about 2pm. At the beginning of the week she refused her nap, was exhausted/ratty by the end of the day but went straight to sleep at bed time. Is 2 years too young to drop a nap or are these signs she is ready to drop it?

My DDs dropped their nap at this age. It resulted in them getting more sleep in a day. If you do drop her be aware that she still needs the same amount of sleep but just in one block so she will need a much earlier bed time.

Both of mine still napped at late 2s / 3. But not for 2 hours. Any compromise of dropping to an hour?

my almost 3yo still does an hour at nursery every day and sleeps 7.30ish until 6.30ish, at the weekend does not nap and sleeps about the same, sometimes lies in a little later.

I reduced the time of DC1’s nap from 2 hours at 2 to more like 1 hour so that she would go to bed earlier at night. She napped for 45 mins-1 hour until she turned 3, (1-2 usually) and then went to bed at 8. I preferred the later bedtime with a break in the middle as meant our nanny got a rest in the day and I had more time with her when I got home from work. DC2 is just 2 and going to do the same I think.
