Other families Xmas day?

Its my first Xmas with my baby this year and it’s got me thinking about years to come. (As we aren’t going mad this year with him being a baby most family are giving us money for his bank account rather than wasting on heaps of toys)

we have lots of family which I’m sure are going to buy DS Xmas pressies over the years. As a kid we would always have all our presents in the living room in the morning (from mum dad close family) to wake up to all excited that Father Christmas has been! But it sounds like all family are planning on keeping presents at their houses until we see them. What does everyone else do? Of course we are grateful for anything bought for DS. Just wondering what other families do and which gifts are from Santa etc.

We always only had presents from Santa in the living room. Presents from relatives were given on Christmas Day and opened in front of them.

Only the stocking is from Santa. Everything else is put under the tree when we get it and opened either on the day or later when they are given them.

Stockings from Santa
Presents under the tree from me.

We go to my mums on Christmas day after Church so presents from her/my Grandad/my Uncle are there.

We go to my Dad's on boxing day so presents from him/my Nannie/my siblings are there.

We have friends that we won't see on or immediately around Christmas but have seen throughout Dec so DC have been getting regular present instalments for a couple of weeks now! They open them straight away so the givers can see.

Presents from us and in-laws will be given on Christmas day, from my side of the family when we are them on boxing day. We don't do Santa.

Ahhh I see. Just intrigued what do your children think if other children are talking about Santa bringing them gifts?
