Car Seat

Can anyone recommend a car seat for DS's granny's car. She has him 4 days a week whilst I work and he has outgrown his first size car seat.

We have a Joie 360i in my car but didn't want to spend the same amount on another car seat (that won't be used as much) but at the same time I want something safe and well made.

Any suggestions?

What age is he? If younger than 1.5/2 then the joie stages is good. We have the non isofix one as a second seat in DHs car. Can be rear or front facing. For grandparents who have him very infrequently we got a Britax Romer one which is just forward facing and it's a decent seat for the price.

He has just turned one but is tall for his age if that makes any difference. Joie Stages does to 7 is that right?

It does to 'average' 7, but my tall DS outgrew it around 5. It's still a great seat though, you can rear face until 18kg then move up to HBB. It's also relatively easy to take in and out, move between cars, or set up for different ages if she occasionally has other grandchildren.

Yes Joie Stages can be a good choice if you want rear facing.

If you're likely to forward face later though I'd look at Graco Turn2Me. It's similar to your Joie spin seat (it's based on the non i-size version) and it has the same spin features and isofix.

Or if you want to be sure that it will last even though he's tall you could get Britax Max Way - it costs a bit more, but once he gets to about 2/3 years you could swap so you're using the Britax and they have the Joie. The Britax lasts a good couple of years longer than the Joie by height.
