WFH with 7 year old off sick

I WFH freelance between school runs. I have a deadline today. DH out in office.

My 7 year old DS is home with a chest infection today. On antibiotics (which I had to do a wild goose chase to find as national shortage of this type) so I missed a day's work yesterday.

He is on the sofa with books, the remote and his Switch.

Why do I feel so guilty?

We've just gotta do what we've gotta do.

I wouldn’t feel guilty. He will probably love a day watching tv and playing games. You are around if he needs you. Try not to worry x

Thanks. Mum guilt! He's had such bad sleep with it recently therefore so have I so I'm tired and overthinking. Plus I recently had a family bereavement so it's been quite full on.

Aww I am so sorry to hear of your bereavement OP. And dealing with that on top of a poorly child. Mum guilt is the worst or the worst, be kind to yourself and try get some rest if you can too. At 7 years old your DS can let you know what he needs so it’s a lot easier than say a toddler. Hope you get your work done for your deadline x Flowers

My Mum didn't work when I was little and my sick days from school were much the same! Don't worry OP, good luck with the deadline.

Isn't that what sick days are for? What else would you be doing with him? DD is only 4 and she still has to entertain herself when she's off sick!
