15mo naps

Hi,

My 15mo went down to 1 nap at 11mo, I didn’t prompt this change, one day he just started skipping his 10am nap and getting tired at 12pm then sleeping until 2pm so his second nap just disappeared. Fine, no problem. Still wakes overnight but got significantly better once down to one nap. Sleeps 10-12hrs at night with 2/3 wakes on average. I’m happy with this as he goes back to sleep with a bf or cuddle and only takes 2-3mins each time.

The last few weeks he has had multiple evenings of complete bedtime refusal, he is very alert and playing, not sleepy at all. We have ended up getting him to sleep around 10/11pm. We then had a week of normal bedtimes (7/8pm) until last night which was 10pm. When thinking over the last week I’ve realised he has only napped for 45mins-1hr rather than 2hrs. This is due to circumstances such as a car nap and waking when we arrive somewhere or the doorbell waking him early. Yesterday he had 2hrs from 11am-1pm and then didn’t seem remotely tired until 10pm.

So do I need to start capping daytime naps at 1hour? How do I do this without him being grumpy at being woken?

Thank you

You could try 1.5 hours which is two sleep cycles.
