What to dress a baby in -4???

Hello, I need to take my 5mo out to drop my older child off. What do I dress him in? We're going in the car but will need to walk 5 mins outside. I have a snowsuit - will that be enough with wool jumper/leggings plus hat and gloves? Should I even take him out?

That sounds fine

I’ve taken my baby out in minus twenty dressed similarly. She was a bit hot if anything but fine. She was better generally without a coat in the sling inside my jacket.
If you have the option to leave the baby do that as you’ll have to put the snowsuit on after taking him out of the car seat which will be a faff.

Was out for a walk yesterday in -4 with my 6MO.

Long sleeved vest, baby grow and socks, pram suit with fold over mittens, hat. In the pushchair with fleece blanket. He was lovely and warm for more than an hour.

On another cold day I did vest, leggings, top, dungarees and snowsuit. But he hates the leggings so a footed babygrow was less faffing.

Your outfit sounds fine.

Sling sling sling!
I had mine in a thin merino wool baselayer, normal clothes then a fleece all in one. Then in the sling under my jacket. Plus hat. Lovely and warm, not sweaty or flushed, plus I could check her easily by popping a finger down her neck.
