Stressing Anjou this… we have simplicity seat with isofix base, do you also use the car seatbelt around it?

With an isofix base? No seatbelt.

Also check the manual about whether handle should remain up or down. Many car seats specify the handle should remain up as it acts as a rebound bar

No it's either or. You either use the Isofix or you fit with a seatbelt if the seat allows. Check the manual carefully; it should be explained!

Check the manual, but fairly sure with isofix it doesn't require seat belt too.

What? No. If it's isofix you don't use a seatbelt too.

Have you posted about this before? Someone else was posting that they were really worried about the car seat and it would make them feel better if they could use both. If that's you - get help for your anxiety.

No, just isofix.

We used an isofix seat that did require the belt also 6ish years ago. Please just check the manual.

With the silver cross simplicity it's one or the other, never both. You use the isofix to fit the base. If you want to fit the car seat in another car then you can use the seatbelt, without the base. Make sure you get it the right way around, lap belt over baby's lap, diagonal belt around the back.

It's important to see what the manufacturer says because if you don't fit it according to instructions it may not perform as it's designed and tested to.
