Every day. They are covered in poo ;)

ladywithnomanors · 09/12/2022 13:39

Most nights at that age

MarianneVos · 09/12/2022 13:39

Once a week. I wipe the poo off during nappy changes.

Every night as part of their bedtime routine for me. Everyone is different though and there’s no right or wrong amount.

pjmasksitsthepjmasks · 09/12/2022 13:43

Are you washing them down on the non-bath days?

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 09/12/2022 13:44

1st baby: every evening, until it became obvious I was just drying out her skin. Then 2 or 3 times a week.
2nd baby: whenever there was time... probably once or twice a week.

Both topped and tailed twice a day, though.

trrk · 09/12/2022 13:51

A few times a week. She also only pooped a couple of times a week, I might have done it more often if she was constantly pooping. Only started doing it as part of the bedtime routine once she stopped screaming upon getting out which was about 4 months.

Scirocco · 09/12/2022 13:54

A proper bath every second day, top and tail on the days in between, clean thoroughly at every nappy change.

Peasplease12 · 09/12/2022 13:56

DD is 9 weeks. She doesn’t particularly enjoy baths so we do it 2-3 times a week. She gets a wash with a flannel on the other days

Hugasauras · 09/12/2022 13:57

DD1, loads. DD2, when we remember.

Biopl · 09/12/2022 13:57

Gosh I feel terrible now!! I do use baby wipes to thoroughly wipe down there but obviously it’s not properly fresh without a bath.

top and tail?? What is that?

I have been just bathing on a Tuesday and Friday and nothing in between…

Well presumably you are thoroughly wiping bits (and do pits too as they get old milk and stuff stuck in them) at nappy changes and the like. Baths aren't really necessary tbh. A couple of times a week is fine.

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 09/12/2022 13:59

Once or twice a week. Health visitor and midwives saimy not to do too much unless needed, apart from poo explosions babies dont get that grubby.

DidyouNO · 09/12/2022 14:01

With my first every day, my third had bad eczema and I realised it was the constant bathing that was doing it. So my third and fourth once a week. Much better skin!!

Porridgeislife · 09/12/2022 14:02

I didn’t wash at all first month and since then (now 5 months) will wash once a week to every ten days. Midwife encouraged no bathing in first month to help protect her skin.

We use cheeky wipes which get her thoroughly clean at nappy changes. When she weans I think she’ll be bathed more often.

Crumpleton · 09/12/2022 14:06

I used to bathe my DC every evening.
Unless there had been a poo explosion meaning full bath not needed mornings were a top and tail, using warm water and cotton wool.
Only used wipes for inbetween nappy change cleaning during the daytime.

Itisbetter · 09/12/2022 14:07

Every day

stopbeeping · 09/12/2022 14:08

Mum of three

Pfb was every night til they stopped liking a bath now they shower every day twice a day and a bath occasionally prob once a week

Second son is such a soap dodger used to bathe him every night now about twice a week. His skin became very dry and irritated when I washed him so much

Baby I bathe her very rarely about once every two weeks and I wipe her down with warm water most days

She has never had skin problems

MattieandmummyandIs · 09/12/2022 14:16

Oh gosh mine are grubby! Eldest once a week and she's four but she does have eczema and any more just sets it off. The five month old baby when we remember - once every 10 days to 2 weeks. Babies don't really get that dirty other than bottoms and at dinner time.

Stressfordays · 09/12/2022 14:20

All 3 of mine were bathed every night from around 2/3 days old. They get milky dribble under their chin that dried like cheese and they poo themselves. They're all older now and I've had no soap dodging issues as they're all so used to it.

Jingleoverthatway · 09/12/2022 14:21

As a newborn, wipe down with a wet flannel morning and night, bath every 3 days or so. Rinse off with the shower if he'd had a particularly bad poo explosion.

More regularly as he started eating at 6mo and was covered in everything!

MoreThanRubies · 09/12/2022 14:49

DH bathes DD every night as part of her routine - she was a sicky, pooey baby so it was also necessary. However, he uses a teeny tiny amount of shampoo, hardly any bubbles, which I think has been better for her skin (if it were me I’d have used loads more, so want to give credit to him).

strawberrysummer19 · 09/12/2022 20:47

Daily ! With wee and poo baby wipes aren't sufficient imo

X

strawberrysummer19 · 09/12/2022 20:47

To not have a bath daily I mean

For people bathing weekly 🤮

SunshineClouds1 · 09/12/2022 21:40

Every night.
No bubbles.
Was part of our bedtime routine
