Baby acne or rash? Help please

Hi everyone,

my 6 week old started getting a few red pimples last week but now her whole face and neck (under hairline) is covered. She rubs her face a lot and they look sore now. I’ve put mittens back on as I’m worried she’ll scratch them.

is this normal baby acne or something more serious? Do you have any experience of this?

I must have been to the GP 6 times in the last 3 weeks for her and my first born so I’m reluctant to go again if I don’t need to 😩

The pimples look very similar to my 5 week olds but mine has it slightly less severe. So I would say baby acne but that's only a guess. My babies gets redder when she's upset.

In the first photo around her right eye and underneath it looks more dense and a bit swollen. Could be a mild skin infection. I would get it looked at - don't worry at all about going to the doctors frequently at this age. They won't bat an eyelid and would far rather see a mildly unwell child than a very poorly one a few days later.

This looks like my DDs baby acne but I'd get it checked given the news at the moment.

Also looks like my baby’s acne at that age. She’s 9 weeks now and it’s pretty much disappeared
