GROUP strep A in pregnancy & toddler

feeling a little anxious and looking for some reassurance,

my mum has messaged to say my little sister has tested positive for group strep A yesterday, my mum had my toddler on Sunday ( I didn't know my sister was unwell or wouldn't have sent her )
My sister is doing well now and is on antibiotics thankfully

Just a little concerned about my toddler and myself as I am 36 weeks pregnant,
Some reassurance or guidance would be appreciated

I had a Strep A infection when 16 weeks with my first. It was just a bad throat infection. My husband and kids of his colleagues had it. None of them went to the doctor or got antibiotics and just suffered on with their ‘nasty sore throats’ for a couple of weeks, but they were all fine. My 4 yo son had scarlet fever a couple of months ago. Again, unpleasant but antibiotics did clear it up very quickly.

It’s a normal, run of the mill bacterial infection. It’s just unfortunate that there is a big outbreak at the moment so u fortunately the statistically small number of people who become very unwell are more obvious. There is no specific pregnancy-related concerns.
