Abscess needing to be drained on baby

Hi mums,

My 10 month old daughter has got abscess on her breast area and after two weeks worth of antibiotics the doctor have said she may need to have GA for it to be drained. Has anyone been through something similar? or their child having GA for infection?

I am so worried and having sleepless nights thinking about it all if she does need to have it done.

I really don't want her to have GA and the abscess has gone down compared to what it was. Any tips or help on how to reduce it even more.

Thank you.

Do not take medical advice from randoms on the internet, FFS, particularly when it comes to a helpless baby.

Highly trained professionals have told you what they believe the best course of action is. You'd be very foolish to refuse to listen.

Oh that sounds horrible for her and you. One of my childen had a GA at 16 mths (not for infection but a short operation). She was home and acting completely normally the same afternoon. I was so anxious but it was OK and she has absolutely no memory of it at all!
