For the last week, DS2 has been saying "wee" and going to the bathroom. I've plonked him on the toilet and about 5 times, he's actually done one. Today he did one before the bath, and anotehr one afterwards - I was amazed. What do I do now? I'm worried it's far too early and if I keep putting him on the toilet he'll stop wanting to wear nappies. But then if he wants to.....

apparently before the days of disposable nappies potty training was often done around 18 mths so doesn't sound impossible... babies learnt what being wet felt like and parents had an incentive to get them dry to save on mountains of laundry

Keep on going !!!

Sounds like your DS knows what he is doing and as long as there is no punishment or negativity associated with accidents, there are no problems with starting early. Some people introduce a potty at birth and don't have any problems later on.

If he does start to object to nappies and you are not happy to move straight to underwear, there are loads of cloth trainer pants out there. Trainer pants will give a bit of wee protection and still look and feel nothing like nappies

I would keep going. My DD wanted to start at 17 months and I wish I had.

my friend's dd was trained day and night at 13 months. go for it and if it doesn't work out you can always leave it for a bit and try again later.
