Kids teeth question

My 5 year old son has always had a big gap between his bottom teeth. Last night whilst reading his bedtime story I noticed that a permanent tooth is coming up behind the gap! He hasn't lost any milk teeth yet! Going to make a Dentist appointment tomorrow but is it possible for a permanent tooth to appear without a milk tooth falling out?

Yup. It's called a shark tooth, we've had a couple. The milk teeth will be pushed out eventually.

It can sometimes it encouraged them to drop out or they can be removed later on. I wouldn’t panic talk to your dentist who will recommend a wait and see approach

Yes, it's quite common. My DS had the baby teeth removed and the adult ones moved into the correct place pretty quickly.

It’s very normal. No need for the dentist to check it.

Perfectly normal but can look a little odd! My DD had two adult front teeth behind her two baby teeth for ages! Spoke to the Dentist who said nothing to worry about, the milk teeth will fall out in time, which they did and all is fine now.

is others have said, it's not an issue but can be more difficult to keep clean.
