Scarlet Fever - Any experience in infants?

We have a Scarlet Fever outbreak at nursery (confirmed by swabs, they've contacted the health board). My ds almost 4 had it very early, was under prescribed antibiotics (5 days instead of 10) and is now recovering from tonsillitis as a result. I'm worried about his baby sister, 10 months. Has anyone experienced a baby this young with Scarlet Fever? Obviously at the first sign of any symptoms she'll be straight to GP or A&E (day/time depending - no walk ins here) with the added information of nursery breakout and her brother already having it.

I didn't even know people still got this before the news from the school in Surrey recently. I wonder why there are breakouts now that are apparently rare enough to be making the news?

My dd had it a few years ago as did her friend at school, she was 4 like your son but I didn't realise what it was for a few days so had a delay getting antibiotics. She was fine after a few days.

If your baby gets it just take to Dr's to get medication soon as, sounds like you know what you're looking for.

No experience to help but just wanted to ask how you are getting on?

My DD is 4 too and there is an outbreak in school… she’s gone to bed tonight with very hot flushed cheeks (don’t think this is necessarily an early sign of scarlet fever… but I am sure it means the start of some nasty virus!). I have a DS who is nearly 6 months and is only just getting over the last fever DD brought home. I am hating this time of year… the illnesses are never ending!!!

hope you’re all doing ok!
