4 month regression

Good morning,

I have a wonderful 14 week old who I think has just started the 4 month regression period.

From week 6/13 she slept from 7pm until 5.30am with a dream feed at 11ish (more led by me than her), and occasionally we drop.

Since Saturday we have been waking at 1am and then 4am-ish, and then again at 8am. I’ve seen online that this is typical regression symptoms (TBH-they seem very mild compared to others 🙌). I have two questions:

  1. I have seen that some people do not recommend feeding back to sleep? Is that s problem? How else would I?! She loves feeding and it feels a comfort for her. Could she just be hungry?
  1. By 1am wasn’t able to give her a feed as we have clustered quite a bit early evening. I am worried by supply isn’t brilliant. Normally during the night I’d pump once while she sleeps and I get 130ml off each boob.

Any advice would be appreciated. ❤️

#1 is personal preference I think. A lot of it depends on the baby. Some babies will wake every sleep cycle and want feeding back to sleep, others will feed to sleep but sleep reasonably well otherwise. IMO it’s only a problem if you feel it’s a problem.

#2 why did you feel you weren’t able to feed her? Were you sore/tired or worried she wasn’t swallowing much? What makes you feel like you have low supply?

Feeding for comfort is equally as important as feeding for nutrition
