we sat her on it for fun as ds still uses it sometimes instead of toilet and she performed much to our surprise and has done each time we have tried last couple of days! Will be great to keep poos out of nappies but will obviously not make her do it if she is not happy. DS was about 18 months i think when we first tried. Bit sad to get excited about these things but that is life with babies!

Well done baby

Just to show you are not the only one who gets excited about these things

My DD on a potty around 3 months old

oh i did not realise you could start so young. my ds 4 months always looks at me with a short grunt before doing a No.2 then waits for me to undo his nappy before he completes the main event. maybee i should just get a potty and plonk him on. he certainly knows he does not like poop in his nappy.

One of my friends who is in her 60's said as soon as her babies were born the midwives made them feed the babies with a potty under their bum so that they got used to it, my mil swears by this and dp was dry day and night before he was 11 months (its ashame he is now 43 and cant hold it for long )

moocowme, Go for it, cleaning a child's bottom after a poo on a toilet/potty requires one piece of toilet paper !!!

Where as a poo in her nappy (when she was a few months old) required a bath and full change of clothes. I know which one I prefer

oliviaelanasmum, I actually bought a baby potty pot like this

I never used it as DD was no longer very little and showed a strong preference to the big toilet.

But now I am pregnant again, I am thinking about trying to catch the new baby's poo in it whilst I breastfed but it might all be a bit much so I'll see how things go.
