My 6mo started on aptamil lactose free 2 days ago because of secondary lactose intolerance after gastroenteritis. she is much better in herself but the poop she’s having smells HORRENDOUS and is dark green!

is this normal?

Did you get the answers you needed to this? I’m just going through same thing and searching for answer to this exact question! Please can you share what u found?? X

Yup - very normal. We had a different brand but it actually said on the tin may cause green and loose stools. It was utterly toxic - stank my house out!
Calmed down after a few weeks

We're going through the exact same thing as FTM2022x! I was a bit startled to find dark green and smelly poop after switching to Aptamil lactose free. How long does it last for your baby? Cluelessfirstimer mentioned a few weeks - that seems long?!?

Same here, started my LO on Aptamil Lactose free 3 days ago on a slow transition as when I previously tried it caused terrible constipation (presumably my fault for changing instantly rather than easing him in). This time round, no constipation but 3 days in and he's been crying with terrible tummy pain but then done the biggest poop he's done in a while and it was extremely dark green and stank.

Reassuring to see others have had the same experience but any advice on how long this is to be expected and/or if the lactose free is actually helping would be hugely appreciated.

HV suggested a trial of this for 2 weeks since my GP refused to investigate CMPA or lactose intolerance. If no improvement after that time to return to GP and insist on discussing CMPA but difficult to know if the green poop is a help or something to be concerned about.
Same as mamachu, panicky first timer here needing reassurance every 10 minutes!
