any tips for getting ds to take medicine

ds is full of cold, running a little bit of a temperature and refuses point blank to take any Calpol. i've just sneaked it into a strawberry yoghurt and he's scoffing it but has anyone got any other magic tips for getting him to take it?
could always rely on the exactamed syringe method but at 2 and a half years old that doesn't work with him either.

DS had to have it in really strong milkshake or something like that.

Or you could put it down the side of his mouth, right to the back and squirt.. but if he's like my DS he will force it back up!

Can you reason with him? Like "I know you don't like the taste, but it will make you feel much better"? At least with Calpol, he will feel better soon enough to be convinced you were right... stuff like antibiotics takes a lot longer so they don't get the same confirmation...

I usually have small sweet or drink waiting to take taste away when they've taken it. Don't take it nicely don't get sweet!!

well normally the promise of a chocolate biscuit will persuade ds to take medicine but even that tactic doesn't hold water anymore.

looks like for the time being at least it'll be the yoghurt method. i will keep trying to get him to take it off a spoon though.....

freeze it in a home-made ice lolly.
