Clinging 3 year old

My youngest DS 2 (almost 3) is super clinging and is stuck to my side 24/7! I never had this with my older two, DS 6 and DD 5.

I can’t leave a room without being followed or a constant “mummy, mummy”, he’s happy playing or watching TV but as soon as I get up to do something he just shouts and follows! And honestly, it’s becoming exhausting!!

He was only 7 weeks old when went into to lockdown so I’m sure that’s not helped as he never had as many of those early interactions with other family/friends and the social side of just being out.

Hes actually ok if I leave the house or he goes to his GPS/nursery so it not separation anxiety it’s just wherever we’re at home or I’m their he has to be with me.

Not sure all of his clinginess is just because he’s the youngest and I guess he does get treated like the baby still! I still carry him downstairs and pick him up which with my old two I had to stop doing at this age or younger as a new baby sibling had been born.

My ds is 3 in 3 weeks and is exactly like this. He's always been stuck to my side and although it's better now because he will actually be ok at my parents house for a bit or at the park with DH (his dad) if I'm in the house with him, he's basically attached to me! I'm assuming he'll grow out of it before high school 🤣
