Experiences of CMPI and sleep please!

Please can I ask for some experiences of cows milk intolerance and sleep. I am beginning to lose my mind here.

i will try to keep this short and just say that 9 month old DD is a horrific sleeper, zero ability to relax and fall asleep even with lots of parent help, multiple wakings, and 3hr long split nights nearly every single night.
Ive been keeping a food diary and at one point she was sleeping a lot better when we’d cut out dairy (me and her as she is BF), so I’m going to cut it out again but it’s driving me insane thinking it’s probably just a coincidence because she has no other symptoms at all, no rashes, hives, sickness, diarrhoea, reflux, gas, irritability etc: she has mild eczema but this gets no better or worse than without dairy.

so I’m just asking for experiences to see if anyone else’s child was this way with less obvious intolerance symptoms and if eliminating dairy actually helped.

im really not asking for sleep advice because please believe me when I say I have genuinely tried it all, every single thing you could try.

Both my DCs have CMPA - they both had improved sleep when we cut out dairy and soya too for DD2 but they also had digestive symptoms too.

If it’s an issue be an allergy not an intolerance. Intolerance is caused by lack of appropriate enzymes.

Do you need any diet advice or info on what kind of alternative milk you will need?

No thank you I’m set for alternatives, I cut out when she was younger for different reasons so its easy enough to it again.

im more just curious about others because as you’ve said, your children also had digestive symptoms, whereas DD has no other issues.

Poor sleep is not a symptom of CMPI. In fact, a lot of the commonly accepted symptoms of CMPI are not actually evidence of CMPI. So many “symptoms” are just normal signs of a young, underdeveloped gut. There is increasing evidence that CMPI is being massively over diagnosed, leading to thousands of women and babies on unnecessarily restricted diets.

Unless your baby is showing signs of pain or discomfort then I would say the poor sleep has absolutely nothing to do with what your and they are eating.
