We're still using a monitor for our 3 year old - we can't hear her if we're downstairs in the living room, so it's handy to have.

Interested what age you stopped using a monitor?

When DC2 had to come downstairs to tell DH that DC1 had been sick (I was out, DH probably asleep on the sofa). They were aged 2 and 4, or maybe 3 and 5.

Wrong way round, DC1 came downstairs (not the 2 or 3 year old)

Still use one for our 4 year old. We can’t hear her downstairs and also its handy for night time wakings, as we just talk through the monitor and don’t need to leave the bed 10 times a night for simple things, eg- it’s still sleep time go back to sleep or your water bottle is next to you.

Bought one but found we could hear them without it so it never came out of the box. Returned it.
My nephew is a couple of months older, my brother and SIL used one until he was about 5.
Use it for as long as you want to.

We still use one for DD 3 as her room is the other side of the house, and we'd never hear her if she needed us in the night.

I used one with DS until he was about 8 which I know sounds crazy, but at the time I was a very heavy sleeper and was worried that I wouldn't hear him.
