Any ideas? Or are we doomed for cold wet hands and associated misery throughout winter?!

Let them get cold wet hands, when they don't like it re-offer the warm dry gloves. Used this with gloves and coat with DS, he now puts both on happily before going out

Mine hated gloves but would tolerate soft socks on his hands.

Buy a coat with fold over sleeves.

Agree with @RewildingAmbridge
DD refused gloves, coats and socks until she was 3. I thought myself lucky if she was wearing crocs and a wooly hat to leave the house in midwinter. She was never bothered by cold. Now at 11, she is the most bean person. I know. 🤷‍♀️

Wear your own constantly.

Use reverse psychology.

I put them in my pocket and offer them every so often.

Adult socks going all the way up their arms with a coat over. Worked in the 80s!

Ree91 · 23/11/2022 20:32

My 2 year old hated her gloves, until we went out with friends for a walk in the park and the 3 year old asked for her gloves. DD will now always ask because she's seen another friend wearing them!

HeyBwoss · 23/11/2022 20:33

I can't even get mine to keep a hat or his pram blanket on

gamerchick · 23/11/2022 20:35

Tights before coat on.

This! But they’re hard to find post age 18-24 months so maybe not an option if LO is big for his age or you like to size up coats to get 2 years out of them (definitely me). My 1.5YO has novelty mittens, cheap as anything in big muktipacks from Amazon, with stupid but toddler friendly designs on like dinosaurs, zoo animals and construction vehicles and he absolutely loves them.

I never wore gloves as a child, my children refused them when they were babies and none of us wear gloves now either. I used to tuck my hands into my coat sleeves so if she really won't do it, could you try that? It's particular warm if her coat is fleece lined!

If she's still in a buggy, could you try a blanket on her lap?

hugoagogo · 23/11/2022 20:52

Mittens are easier at that age, but whether they wear them is another matter.
