Toilet training - won't poo in the toilet

We started toilet training dd3 2 1/2 weeks ago. She's smashing it with the pees but has only poo'd once on the toilet - instead she just poos her pants.

I've tried the pooland app, letting her watch me poo, bribery, letting her have my phone while sitting on the toilet but to no avail.

She also doesn't seem to have a set time of day when she poos so it's hard to predict and really monitor for signs.

I know it's early days but looking for suggestions how to tackle it!

Have you started with potty then moved to the toilet? I'd say it would be good not to force it too much now if if she's not comfortable for some reason. Our child was the same and went on to have problems withholding it and getting badly constipated.

Perhaps for poos she could continue to use the potty for now (or a nappy, which could be put on when she needs to). If she isn't able to warn you that she is going to do one perhaps this affects her "readiness" to use the toilet for it.

The charities Eric and Bladder and Bowel UK both have websites, and at least one a helpline. You've tried some of what they suggested to us. There was also getting posture right (step to raise feet - so knees above hips I think) and child's toilet seat they like. Blowing action was another one, it can help relax and loosen the right muscles. Blowing a toy instrument or bubbles! Good luck 🙂
