12 month old won't eat

Hi! I'm looking for a bit of advice, I've already chased up the HV but waiting for her to get back to me. My youngest is going to be 1 in a few days, and he's stopped eating his 3rd meal of the day. He'll eat breakfast and lunch fine but he won't eat at dinner. He's still having bottles of formula, he drinks 8-9oz after breakfast 6oz after lunch and then 9oz at bedtime but because he's not been eating in the evening, he's been wanting more milk at bedtime.

He did drop his 2nd bottle of the day a few weeks ago, he just wasn't drinking it, but this last week he's been wanting it again so I've started giving him it.

It's been almost 10 years since I last had a 1 year old and I seem to have forgotten everything. Do I wean him off his 2nd bottle again and give him an extra snack in-between lunch and naptime? Or just let this phase out? Tia. X

Personally I'd drop the one after breakfast. So give him breakfast with a cup of milk then give him a snack mid morning.

Thankyou! I've tried giving him milk in a cup several times, but each time he takes a sip he just spits the milk out, so unfortunately he's still using bottles. He drinks water from Munchkin miracle 360 cup but I've been unsuccessful getting him to drink his milk from anything but a bottle.

Do you have any suggestions for this? X

At one he only needs 300ml/10 floz a day so if he doesn't drink the milk from the cup at this stage it's no problem.

I'd take him down for breakfast and put the milk in a cup and give him breakfast.

It might take him 2 or 3 days to realise that he needs to eat his breakfast if he's hungry.

It could be that he's a) teething or b) just not hungry - what time are his 2nd and 3rd meals (and milk).

My DD has just turned 12 months; our schedule is:
about 5oz milk (she's never been one for a big volume of milk)
about 50mins later breakfast (the times of this varies depending on when she's got up)
12:30pm ish she gets her lunch
3.30pm to 4pm she usually has 3 or 4 oz of milk (today it was 2.30pm) - sometimes she has snacks as well, just depending how cranky she gets.
5pm dinner
7pm 4oz milk

When my DD has been ill or teething, her food intake has gone down and her milk intake has gone up. I personally wouldn't worry if its only a few days.
