Comfort milk

bunnymum96 · 22/11/2022 19:39

My DD is 9 weeks today and has been diagnosed with colic and silent reflux. We are on prescribed gaviscon and laxatives for a few weeks now and she improved massively. However, she’s become so unsettled again and symptoms back to square one.

I’m thinking of going onto a comfort milk and wondered:

  1. Any success stories?
  2. Is this just a developmental leap?
  3. Can I make comfort milk with Tommee Tippee machine? Does it save if I want to make up and take it out for an hour?
  4. Recommendations for comfort milks?

Thank you

I don't have the answers to your questions unfortunately @bunnymum96 but I just wondered if anyone had mentioned the possibility of Cow's Milk Protein Allergy?

@PritiPatelsMaker

No, can this be an issue for formula babies? Is there a way to tell?

Sma comfort (possibly called easy digest now) was great for us

It can definitely be an issue for any baby. There's a link at the end of my last post where it says Cow's Milk Protein Allergy. Have a read and see if any of the symptoms fit Wink

We used Cow & Gate comfort and it was great for DS Smile you just make it up the same as any other formula, so no problem using the prep machine or taking a made up bottle out with you. It's worth a try!

We use cow and gate comfort. My ds takes it well. Be warned though his farts stink awful! Also poo is like greedy stinky sludge! But he is at least pooing now where he wasn't before

You can also add Carobel to your usual formula, which is probably slightly cheaper and lets you decide the thickness. We were prescribed it and It's been brilliant for our little one's reflux.

We used it with DD alongside colief and anti colic TT bottles and it was a Game changer
DD got into a settled routine and it really helped her tummy.
10/10 recommend
We used C&G

I didn't have a machine but it's just powder so should work exactly the same

Was great for us but later found out he had an undiagnosed milk allergy so the reduced milk proteins helped him because of that. Can't do him any harm to try
