Light brown staining on toddler teeth

I’ve noticed it 2/3 times this week on DS. It does disappear or fade right down after a long firm brush (far more than what I should be having to brush though!).

He’s just coming to the end of a course of Amoxycillin - could that be staining his teeth?

His teeth are brushed twice every day - at least half an hour after he’s eaten. He only drinks water and occasionally a cup of whole cows milk (a couple of times per week) if he asks for it. Hes never had any other juices/squash etc. He’s never had sweets/chocolate/biscuits. He does eat fruit but usually with meals - occasionally as a snack.

I thought our tooth care routine was pretty good and now I’m worrying that I’m doing something wrong and damaging his little teeth 😳

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would say vitamins or the antibiotics. Sounds more like staining than damage.

has he visited a dentist yet? Maybe worth lining up an appointment soon just to be sure

Antibiotics are known to affect teeth, yes.

@Annonnimouse I didn’t think of the vitamins! He gets his every morning with breakfast. He’s just turned 2 this month and has seen the dentist twice so far - they had no concerns at all but I’ve only just noticed this now myself! His next check up is in January.

@Haycorns4Piglet I had no idea about this 😳
