i know heated throws safer option, I’m not sure, but as well as heating the kids need something extra at night to snuggle down. Even with heating on the house has a chill.

any recommendations?

They do different things. Electric blankets are for underneath the fitted sheet in bed. They're stiffer typically and don't drape around you. They're warmer too. Heated throws don't get too hot and drape around you like normal throws, albeit with the wires running through them. I sometimes take my heated throw and put in just under my duvet to take the chill off before I get in to bed.

Hi @Helpmesos Thanks for posting. If you're still wondering about what type of electric blanket to get, take a look at our article on the best electric blankets. It includes under blankets, mattress toppers, over blankets and heated throws. Many of the products have been recommended by Mumsnet users and there's also a guide on how to choose the best type for you. I hope it helps.
