How many times a day do you BF your baby?

DS is 4 weeks old and I’m still feeding every 2/3 hours during the day (letting him sleep however long he wants in the night).

how many times should I be making sure I feed him? Or can I just let him lead me on however many times he wants to be fed?

i was told babies need 8-12 feeds a day but I’m struggling to get that in

he’s gaining weight every week and following his percentile

How much is he waking in the night? I'd imagine you are feeding 8-12 times a day, unless he's going realllly long stretches at night

But either way- as long as he's gaining weight absolutely just follow his lead.

I just BF on demand with my 4 week old. I also don’t wake her at night for feeds - was told as long as they are gaining weight & healthy there is no need. I probably feed DD 8-10 times over 24 hrs but don’t keep count. They will let you know if they are hungry!

I just fed on demand too and didn’t wake at night after 3 weeks.

If he’s following his centile then whatever you’re doing is working for him so don’t worry about it.
