Me and my ex have been separated for about 4 months and we have arranged that our son, who is 3, stays with him from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon every other weekend.
He gets very upset and angry at me when I pick him up and it's completely devastating. My son is my world and it's so hurtful to hear him say he doesn't want me and that he wants to stay with daddy. I work pt and spend a lot of quality time playing with him and on most of my days off work take him out places. He's always loving and actually very clingy the rest of the time we're together but these pick ups are really getting me down. I'm not sure what I can do to improve the situation. I encourage him to talk about his feelings and talk about his dad if he wants to. I considered it could be because it's bit of a long time in between seeing his dad that's part of the problem but his dad doesn't want anymore time with him than what he's already got.
Has anyone else had this? Do things get better? Is there anything I can do?
