How long do you keep liquid Paracetamol open for

FTM and first time using liquid paracetamol.

I bought Calpol and Parapaed and it doesn’t say anywhere in the packaging how long you can use it for once it’s opened. I asked the pharmacist at the pharmacy and he said you can use it for as long as the date hasn’t expired. That didn’t make sense to me so I asked again if it doesn’t expire in the next 2 years I can open it now and use the liquid for 2 years and he said yes.
On google I read some liquid should be discarded after 4-8 weeks so what do you do?

I can't think of any good reason to discard after opening if it doesn't say so, so I always kept and used as long as it was within date.

As long as its in date its fine, you don't have to use it up .

Children's medication is a tightly regulated area, if it says it's fine to keep it until the expiry date, then it's fine. They're not going to have just forgotten to put on the bottle that it needs to be thrown away after six weeks!

Until the bottle is empty!

Its not a pint of milk it won't spoil, just maybe become ineffective after the use by.

Just remember to give it a good shake and keep using until it's finished or the use by date.

When I worked on a complex care team we used to have to discard once it had been opened for six months but at home I just keep it until it's all been used.
