I have exams next week, they count towards my final degree grade (not a lot but it still counts)

I'm stuck on MN, did 3 hrs work this morning and had great plans of getting another 3 done this afternoon but can't turn the computer off!

Somebody explain to me why I need to get a degree again?

i was like that earlier. i had one eye on MN and the other on my work. its that damn xmas name thread i tell ya!

yes! I want to know what everyone's called!

If I was at home I could get work done and check on MN every few minutes but at uni I have to go to the computer room and give MN my full attention. I WILL do some more work now.

You need it to get an interesting job where someone will pay you to keep one eye on Mumsnet
I have two degrees which is why I spend so much time on here

hmmm, good point. getting paid to watch MN sounds good.

Although I have got to the point where I have done so little work today it's almost worth writing off the whole day and starting again tomorrow. (yes, I know that's totally illogical)

Cripes, I can offer sympathy but may not be too hot on the motivation front: 2 x 2,500 word assignments to be in by Wednesday and I've done practically nothing on either as was too busy on last week's 5,000 and 2,500 word ones. Was going to work all weekend but Sat am have to pack bags in Sainsbury's for the playgroup and Sunday is now dd2's 3rd birthday party, postponed from last week when she was ill.

Aaaaargh...

I reckon that Mumsnet isn't a distraction: it's therapy!

C'mon - you can do it. Apart from the fact that you'll gain a blody good qualification, you have to do this for yourself. Imagine how you'll feel at your award ceremony and imagine how proud little ones will be when they see you at your award ceremony. It's a great feeling (I expected to be embarrassed - but I loved parading around the city in my gown and everybody knowing what I'd done).

MN does you good, but you'll soon be able to come on here and brag about your degree.

joashiningstar · 02/12/2004 23:38

blody - should read bloody

Awenamanger · 03/12/2004 11:58

Joash thank you. Just got email back from tutor.. apparantly what i have written is good but is to much theory and not answering the bloody questions ... feel like ripping the sodding thing up! But no, I will remain calm and serene and try again. NOt going ot get much done though this weekend.

joashiningstar · 04/12/2004 00:09

Just out of interest - What degree are you doing?

joashiningstar · 04/12/2004 13:30

Bump

Poo2 · 04/12/2004 13:37

Ooo - me too, me too. Have to write 20,000 words by the 15th, and have only managed aboout 4,000 so far. Have no motivation whatsoever...
