Straining but not constipated

My 6mo is recently straining alot to poo but her stools are soft. She usually goes once a day but since having gastroenteritis last week she’s going 5 or 6 times a day but really small amounts.

dr isn’t worried but i’m just confused about why she’s straining if not constipated

Is she on solids? Breastfed or bottle?

Have you used the website called Eric? It's brilliant. I have no idea why it's called Eric but it will give you everything you need to know about toileting and bowel movements. You need to have a good delve into. Professionals and parents use it.
