Miserable 4 month old

Hi all, DS is nearly 5 months and for the past couple of weeks has been sooo fussy, miserable, and clingy. Seems to only be happy when being held, otherwise he is crying. The second I lay him down he's whinging, which usually turns into full blown screaming if I don't pick him up again. Majorly fighting naps too and waking every hour at night! No temperature, still feeding, still having wet and dirty nappies so I don't think he's unwell, just so irritable!

I admit I'm finding it really stressful. I have a toddler too and trying to look after her whilst also trying to soothe a fussy screaming baby is really difficult. I'm wondering if this is a phase as he's also really trying to roll over and sit up. Perhaps it's frustration? I'm just hoping it'll pass soon! Feels like I'm doing something wrong 😔

Four month sleep regression!

My 4.5 month old has also been super clingy and generally fussy and fighting naps. The Wonder Weeks app predicts a lengthy fussy period around this time (which they refer to as leap 4). Although I don’t know how much stock to put i n the app generally it does seem about right here. The way their sleep cycles work also changes at this point.

My little one is the same but has just started teething so that could explain alot. I also have a toddler and find it hard to entertain both. Baby wearing round the house is now a thing in my home or I get the toddler and dance with them both as music calms them. Failing that calpol and Ashton parsons powder. Good luck!

4-6 months was the worst months for me so far! So bloody whiny! The noise used to
go through me!! She’s so much happier now. She’s almost 10 months, but I’d say from
about 6 months onwards things improved gradually.
