Daily routine

What is your daily routine?

I feel so lost. I have a 5 week old baby and a 4 year old DS. Every morning I will get up and get 4YO ready for school. OH will drop him to school then come back an sleep off a night shift. I'll cook clean then have a shower and then just sit and BF baby and watch tv. I plan in my head to go out but still dont feel confident taking baby out. So I just end up staying at home. OH wakes up at 2:30 and goes to collect 4YO. The evening is spent with 4YO playing, me making dinner, doing laundry and then 10mins doing schoolwork with DS before I start getting him ready for bed for 7.
Since having baby, weekends have been spent mainly at home with LO playing or watching tv. We have gone out once or twice as a family for dinner but was only out for an hour.

I feel like I'm not doing anything meaningful. Before I had baby I was working and had somewhat of a social life. Now all i do is stay at home.

How was the birth @Why223? Are you still recovering from that?

Maybe if going out is daunting and you are BFing, going to a local BFing Group where there'll be other local Mums and Mums to Be would help?

I know the weather is crap but I do think getting out is good for you - could you do pick up from school one day? Or even just a quick walk out to a local shop to pick up some bread.

I've got a 3 week old and can relate to this, still a bit nervous about doing proper outings. I've been on a couple of walks and it definitely makes me feel better. I'm hoping to get a bit more of a routine in the coming weeks.

I wouldn't stress about it too much ploopy, both of mine naturally started to fall into a natural one after about 4 weeks Wink

How've you got on today @Why223 ?

@PritiPatelsMaker went out for a meal with a few friends, took the baby as I was BF. Baby slept through the meal. It was nice just getting changed and wearing something different and just having a good old natter.stays for 2 hours then left.

I'm just exhausted, I keep feeling like this by midday. My brain is working away but my body is shattered. I dont even know what vitamins to take as I'm breastfeeding.

Sounds like you've had a lovely time and I'm so glad the baby slept your you. My DC1 would alway sleep if we went out, he was just a little crying sod at home! Grin

If you're exhausted, it's normal up to a point as you're probably sleep deprived but if you do want to take supplements, have a read of Vitamins & other supplements for Breastfeeding Mothers.

I think it's basically says you shouldn't really need them but if you do want to take them, make sure the Vit A & Vit E levels aren't too high.
