Upset stomach after 16 week vaccinations?

My LO had her 16 vaccinations last week and has now had diarrhoea for 5 days (starting on day 3 after the vaccinations so can’t be totally sure it’s connected). She is otherwise in good spirits and drinking normally. Is it normal to have diarrhoea this long after vaccinations or should I be contacting our GP?

Hi, my baby is on day 8 of diarrhoea post 16 week vaccinations. I was wondering if this resolved for you and how long it took? I know this post was a while ago but any information would be really appreciated!

We had this too, also starting on day 3. Lasted almost 3 weeks but was worst for the 1st week which also corresponded to our first holiday post-baby. I did ask the GP after the first week but they just said to wait it out.

Thanks so much for replying! That’s so strange as we were meant to go away this week for first time too! I decided to change the dates of our hol as was worried about travelling with him like this. Did it slowly go back to normal? I have cut out all dairy and switched to lactose free formula but still 8 poos a day!

Yes my nephew also. He had diarrhoea for a week.

Ours slowly went back to normal over about 3 weeks without me doing anything in particular. Changing the milk might not be helping as they can also take a bit of time to adjust to a different formula. It definitely wasn’t pleasant travelling with that going on and I ended up changing her in various dirty public toilets but the accommodation couldn’t be cancelled so we went anyway.

Hi my baby is also going through the same thing and is now on day 8 with his diarrhoea getting even worse (completely water stools). He’s still feeding regularly but it seems to be going right through him. I have submitted a stool sample and waiting for results, dr at hospital advised it may be lactose intolerance but I’m unsure if I should switch formula and eliminate dairy just yet. Please could you offer any advice

Hi the stool sample said he had rota virus however it started the day after he received the second dose of vaccine. As it’s a live vaccine I think this is what caused it. The gp nurse also said she had heard similar things happening after the vaccine. It went on for quite a while and gradually got better. Just have to watch out for them getting dehydrated.
