How much screen time does your 2 year old have

Do you set limits on how long the tv is on for or do you have it on most of the day for background noise?

Honestly when ds was that age he didn't watch telly. We had a couple of videos ( long time ago!) but he wasn't that interested. I don't think he watched anything until he was nearly 3. I think it's much more common now though. Tbh at 2 I would limit it.

Cbeebies is on in the morning. I get screen time is not ideal, I really do, but I also don’t have a clue what else I’m supposed to do with a toddler at 6am!

None at all yet - DD just about to turn two. We do often have the TV on in the room but to stuff like the news, so she doesn't pay attention to it at all. Exception is if there's animals on the screen - then she'll point and name the animal - but she still doesn't sit down and watch it.

She occasionally asks to see photos on my phone but for about five mins at a time, tops, and with me controlling the phone.

Expect we'll start introducing limited telly in a few months or so - something like one old Disney film a week or whatever.

Given DS doesn't go to nursery, he gets about an hour in the morning when I'm half asleep and probably about another hour throughout the day e.g. when I make food or clean up messes.

Some days more, others less.

When it's raining and there's nothing booked for the day, there's only so much imaginative play, painting, books, playdoh, blocks and trains that will keep his interest....

Oh and he's 3 next week

My 2 yo is at nursery all week so gets maybe half an hour or so in the evenings while I'm sorting dinner out. Gets maybe closer to 2 hours on a weekend day.

Wed never have it on all day as 'background noise' as DC will always stop what they are doing and watch it any time it is on. So we can't have it on if we want the to be doing anything else.

I used to have the news on but then there was a massive explosion one day so I put a stop to that. We have nursery rhymes on for about an hour. I'm trying to find an audio only version.

About 20 minutes in the morning while I'm sorting breakfast and another 20-30 minutes at night while I'm sorting dinner. I don't have the tv on during the day. He gets a bit of cocomelon or little baby bum on my phone when I cut his nails!
