Are sleep consultants worth it?

Hi all,

just looking for a general consensus as to whether sleep consultants are worth the money? I’m at my wits end with my almost 6 month old he has been incredibly difficult with his sleep for the last 7 weeks and nothing I seem to do is helping in fact it just keeps getting worse. Has anyone used one in the past and did it help or was it just let them cry it out as I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work either

You will get very different answers on here but for us it was 100% worth it.
Changed my whole experience as a mum and have a happy 2YO who has slept 12 hours a night since 8 months.
We used Child Sleep Solutions and it was a very gentle experience. No leaving babies sobbing in rooms or anything like that.

A sleep consultant will not tell you anything new, or anything you can't find out using Google.

What they do is hold you to account, and some people need that.

Sleep consultant won't have a magic wand to make anything easier than it would be for you to fo it yourself. But if you're not sure what to do and want someone to tell you, or if you know what you need to do but find excuses to not be consistent about ot - then a sleep consultant might help.

Yes I used one when my child was 14 months and he was sleeping through the night within a week. He's 4 now and still a fantastic sleeper.

I have a 1 year old who we'd started to slip into bad habits with. I did one night using the sleep consultants techniques and she's slept through the past week.

We used Goodnight Guidance and it was fully remote. We did a video call but mainly communicated through WhatsApp.

Thanks for the opinions guys I did end up springing for an online course from
a sleep consultant and have just made a first attempt with a routine. It was a bit of a nightmare but I expected the first one to be the hardest so fingers crossed it gets better!
