Hi all

Has anyone got any pros and cons for the Uppababy Cruz vs iCandy Lime?

No idea about the icandy, but Uppababy are amazing pushchairs.
I used mine absolutely loads and it's still going strong. Use mine as a trolley for the weekly shop 6 years later!

I personally don't like the Uppababy at all. It has a nice big basket but it just feels cheap to me and flimsy.

@TheFutureIs haha I love that!! What version do you have?

@PinkButtercups Have you got one or have you got another brand? I found it sturdier than a stroller but lighter than the iCandy

We had the Uppababy Vista so not quite the same but we loved the range. My sister took the pram after we had used it for 3 years and it is still going strong. She had an icandy and found it was hard to take over rougher ground.

I think the uppa baby is anything but cheap looking/feeling. We have the vista and it's been worth every penny spent. Light but sturdy and so easy to push about.

I have the Vista and as I said it's been used for 6 years. At least 3 of them with a kid in it. Definitely not flimsy, great on pavement and off road. It's been to festivals etc. Some fab features eg removable wheels in case you go through dog poo

I'd definitely go for the Uppababy Cruz. With most iCandy buggies, the seat unit doesn't sit upright enough. When you have a baby or toddler who isn't able to sit up straight, they get very very angry. We ended up moving to a stroller much sooner. My sister had the Uppababy and my niece was very happy.

Also the built in sunshade that comes with the Uppababy is amazing. The iCandy, just didn't offer enough shade with the hood, it was pretty useless.

PinkButtercups · 10/11/2022 20:56

No I didn't go for it in the end. When we were testing it out it just didn't feel right. Maybe it's the one we tested who knows but that's just my opinion on it feeling flimsy and cheap.

The iCandy carrycot is the only one that can be used for overnight sleeping as recommended by the Lullaby trust, so if you go away, you could use that as baby's Moses basket overnight safely. The big carrycot also means baby can lie flat for longer which is better for spinal development. If you can, get to a John Lewis and give them a spin!

We have the Cruz and while it is generally good it’s rubbish off road. The wheel design means leaves and mud get stuck in the wheels and you have to clear it out to keep the wheels turning (multiple times on a walk at this time of year)

In the summer I forget about this and every autumn it annoys me again!
